MOTHER'S DAY

The weekend before Mother’s Day is incredibly special for thirty mothers who are selected from the many services of Salvation Army to receive a day for themselves.  Members of the Auxiliary are paired as personal shoppers to each of the thirty women and are given a $100 dollar gift card at J.C. Penney’s at the Main Place Mall.  The mothers are also given a free make-over with cosmetics, and flowers as they finish their shopping.  A short devotional is given by a Chaplain of the Salvation Army to encourage the mothers to stand firm in raising their children in the Lord.  Truly a day to “give back” to the mothers.
